Well I almost made it a month with weekly newsletters – LOL. But alas resolutions are meant to be broken. I am going to send one out this week to explain why I’m so busy.
So this is the dealio, I am revamping my website and It’s taking a whole heck of a lot of time. LOL
I’m also trying to get my shop set up at www.youcanmakethis.com where I’ll be selling my hand embroidery patterns. I’ve decided since I’m going to be working on so many things that this is the best solution for me to get my work done and cut out some of the hassle of adding new product pages.
Did you know that I do all of my graphics, design my own website, design my own patterns, then convert my patterns into clean images that you all love so much, then make them into pretty “packages” for you to open when you purchase them, update my web pages all by myself, not to mention now I’ve added building new machine embroidery collections that go along with my hand embroidery collections, digitize those designs (which is a toughy, let me tell you), and I’m planning on designing quilts with my embroidery designs incorporated into them as well. For most companies this would all be done by a staff of people. You know, web managers, a graphic design team, digitizers, marketing departments, general managers, advertising….. But at Homeberries it’s just me baby! I am so busy some days I dream about winning a million bucks just so I could hire a team – LOL. Then I tell my husband “I retire!” , until the next morning when I wake up fresh with new ideas, and lots of well rested sense – LOL.
I’m not complaining. I love what I do, but sometimes I don’t think others realize ALL that I do. I’m a mommy and a wife. Yes I have to do laundry too- lol, and make dinner, and vacuum, and do the dishes, and fix broken toys along with booboo’s and scraped knees. The list never ends. I still wake up every morning excited to get my day started and see what I can come up with. My list of responsibilities didn’t start out so big, it’s gradually grown like a monster – ROFL. It grows with every new idea I have (and those never stop). I love that God has given me talents that I can share with others. I also know that someday I will have more support to help me grow even more. It just takes time. “Sigh”
Well I’m off to add color pages to some designs, convert my free patterns into PDF’s for the new website, fix some minor issues on my latest machine embroidery pattern, and get a newsletter together for this week.
Oh, I almost forgot. Since I am so crazy busy this week it may be a little bit before I get another new pattern put together so hang in there while I get my crazy work load under control. It may be a few weeks. Keep checking in though, because I think a new freebie might be in order with all of this craziness.
Busy, you sound like me, but my mommy status has changed as my children are grown. I still put in 40 hours a week BUT am looking to retire in June. I am trying to get my stuff going on two etsy sites. The weather has put a damper in my attitude and I don’t feel like doing anything!
I just finished 4 loads of wash, I was given the night off from cooking and I have repeatedly stated the SO is old enough to make his own, as well as our daughter who still lives at home.
Constantly running around doing the house cleaning and shopping, so now you can see why I can’t get myself to doing my sewing and embroidery, I’m still in big demand!
I haven’t even gotten back to my blog which could be 2 months behind!
Gonna check out your new site and will be taking to you.
Donna
HELP! So your telling me it doesn’t get any easier – ROFL
I hate laundry, dinner, and cleaning in general. Unfortunately I don’t make what Oprah does so I’m not seeing a live in Maid and Chef in my future anytime soon. LOL Guess that’s life.
Well miss Diane when you’re ready to pick up the Machine again and get stitching I would love for you to join my creative team. I really don’t need testers anymore now that I have a machine. I’m looking more for you to use my designs to create Creative (as in Creative Team-lol) ways to use them.
Keep me posted on your status.
Wow Jennie, you are one busy lady. But I bet our friend Stephanie at HeartStrings Embroidery would trade places with you in a heartbeat. . .LOL!!! She digitizes designs and operates all of her websites by herself. . .can’t remember how many she has now, has a blog, has 4 children, a new puppy, a husband who has had several accidental injuries lately, has to make meals and do laundry for 6 people, clean house, shop for groceries, etc., etc., etc.! Yet she still has time for her wonderful forum. . .it’s the only forum I’ve seen that has such a homey feel to it. Whenever I feel sorry for myself cause I can’t get everything done, I just think of Stephanie and say “Whew!” So there are some of us who realize and appreciate what people like Stephanie and you do! Thank you for the wonderful designs that you create, that Stephanie digitizes and I get to embroider on my machine. I love the fact that I NEVER have to test stitch any design that she has digitized! Isn’t she the greatest!!! You two make a great Team! Hugs. . .Teri
